September Will Always be Beautiful!

September will always be beautiful!

September has already ended but I still want to put into writing my thoughts for that month. It’s better late than never, right?

I'm not sure about you but I always get excited every time September comes. It's the start of the “ber” months as we call it in Filipino and as early as now, one can already feel the Christmas spirit in the air.

Well, talk about a country with the longest Christmas season that spans from September  to December. The Philippines is known for that.

Almost everyone's beginning to decorate his or her home with beautiful Christmas ornaments at this time.

Personally,  my eyes would light up at the sight of colorful lanterns hanging in the windows, of giant Christmas trees on display in the malls and of trees adorned with twinkling Christmas lights that brighten up the busy highways.

"Hanging amihan” (cool northeast wind) also begins to kick in anytime soon. If you're living in a tropical country just like me, you'll probably know what I mean. I'm not really a fan of hot weather and I usually avoid the sun. So, with the anticipation of shorter days and longer nights, the temperature will surely drop. Oh! I can't wait to snuggle in bed during the cold mornings!

But Christmas songs are my all-time favorite. The truth is, my heart would be filled with joy as if I hear those being played for the first time.

It’s like the same old feeling comes back whenever I hear Jose Mari Chan’s classic “Christmas in our Hearts.”

🎶Let's sing Merry Christmas and a happy holiday
This season may we never forget
the love we have for Jesus
Let him be the one to guide us
as another new year starts
And may the spirit of Christmas
be always in our hearts🎶”

I feel like a child being mesmerized by his soothing voice, really :) This song never gets old for me. Listen...

But more importantly, September got a new meaning when I met this cuddly little boy in white overalls. How could I forget that special second day of September, Friday at 10:50 PM? The day when I officially called myself MOM.

And that was over 12 years ago! Wow! My first-born is almost a teenager. I still couldn’t believe how it happened so fast! It's as if I blink my eyes and see that the baby I carried to sleep is now taller than me! In a flash,  I see a fine young man standing in front of me.

Oh kids, they really grow up so quick! Makes me realize that as parents, we need to cherish every moment with them while they’re still little.

“The days are long but the years are short.”

I couldn’t agree more.

It’s a bit cloudy outside as usual but come rain or shine, I’m always looking forward to seeing September with positivity. And together with our sweet little ones, I can truly say even more that -

September will always be beautiful!

How about you, dear friends? How do you see September?

Cheers,
Joan
